Structural engineering is the core activity of our consulting services. Assessment of Existing Structures

Existing structures can require assessment for a variety of reasons: determination of maintenance and/or repair needs, signs of deterioration or overstress, and damage due to natural disasters. Our non-destructive visual assessments include documentation of existing conditions, determination of the causes of overstress or deterioration, and recommendations for repair or strengthening.

Structural Strengthening, Repair, and Restoration

The design of any strengthening or restoration requires skill and creativity. Our focus in these projects is to produce practical and long-lasting solutions. Giving consideration to project needs, site conditions, and cost effectiveness, we utilize state-of-the art technologies including carbon fiber reinforcement (CFRP) and glass fiber reinforcement (GFRP) as well as conventional methods of strengthening such as steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.

Structural Special Inspections

Code changes in recent years require additional inspections during the construction of many structures. The combination of our structural engineering experience and our inspection background has prepared us to serve our clients as the structural inspector of record (SIR) for these structures. Our inspections include field verification of construction activities in keeping with design documents, documentation of deviations in site and construction conditions, coordination with the structural engineer of record (SER), and periodic progress reports.

Construction is the last step in moving a project from concept to reality. Our project management during construction includes active resolution of challenges which arise during construction and keeping our clients informed and involved throughout construction.
