Structural Project Engineer, eIT

Job Description

  • We are looking for a motivated, capable, entry-level engineer with an emphasis on structural design who is seeking a challenging career with a dynamic consulting engineering firm.

Locations

  • Louisville, KY

  • Nashville, TN

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing structural design plans and details.

  • Produce drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Review structural specifications.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines.

  • Conduct field inspections and prepare written reports.

  • Assist in construction support activities including responses to requests for information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits, and design revisions/management of changes.

  • Perform calculations for structures and components of various construction materials.

  • Utilize various structural engineering software programs for analysis.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Entry level to 4 years of experience in structural engineering design.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis (ABET Accredited) or graduating within 6 months.

  • EIT certificate or the ability to obtain the certificate within 6 months.

  • Plans to become a licensed Professional Engineer.

  • Knowledge of and practical application of various regulatory codes and design manuals (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, etc.)

  • Possess a good work ethic.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate well using both technical and non-technical language and read with comprehension.

  • Conscientious and detailed.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Strong computer skills with basic knowledge of drafting software, BIM modeling and structural based design software (AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, EnerCalc, etc.).

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as individually with minimal supervision.

  • Familiar with construction and safety practices and willing to go on site.

  • Teachable and eager to develop professionally.

mid-Level Structural Engineering Project Manger

Job Description

  • As a Mid-Level Structural Engineering Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing multiple projects from inception to completion. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful delivery of structural engineering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, to drive project success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple structural engineering projects simultaneously, including planning, coordination, and execution.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

  • Lead project teams, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather project requirements and develop engineering solutions.

  • Conduct structural analysis and design to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Review project plans, specifications, and drawings for accuracy and completeness.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective measures to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Assist in construction support activities including responses to requests for information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits, and design revisions/management of changes.

  • Foster strong client relationships by addressing their concerns, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in structural engineering.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and regulations.

  • Proficiency in using structural engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, , ETABS, or similar.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgetary constraints.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

Structural Revit Specialist

Job Description

  • Cornerstone Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the expansion of its Nashville office. We are looking for a proficient Revit specialist who is seeking a challenging career with a dynamic consulting engineering firm.

Locations

Job Responsibilities

  • Create preliminary and detailed design models and drawings, including developing conceptual layouts, preliminary and final design drawings, and record drawings.

  • Coordinate and maintain REVIT standards with multiple partnering firms.

  • Develop Revit models and produce detailed drawings for structures of various types and materials.

  • Interpret and use engineer’s markups/sketches and client’s base drawings/existing drawings (where applicable) to generate models/drawings.

  • Work closely with engineers to ensure drawings are accurate and completed on time.

  • Coordinate structural project work with other disciplines.

  • Assist in the development of cost estimates and other engineering and construction support tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree and/or technical certifications in BIM/drafting.

  • Entry level to 5 years of experience in BIM/drafting; structural modeling/drafting experience preferred.

  • Experience applying and maintaining the quality and consistency of predetermined drafting standards.

  • Possess a good work ethic.
